Majeda Abu-Alghanam is an Executive Vice President at CGCN and supports clients in the Energy and Environment practice. She has served various roles on Capitol Hill and in the private sector, specializing in a range of cross-sector issues including energy, environment, agriculture, food, and international trade policy.
Most recently, Majeda served as an advisor at the U.S. House Committee on Agriculture for Chairman Glenn “GT” Thompson (R-PA), where she oversaw legislative activity related to agricultural trade and domestic and international food policy, and negotiated these policies throughout the drafting and markup of the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2024, commonly known as the Farm Bill.
Prior, Majeda served as an advisor to Chairman of the U.S. House Committee on the Budget and senior Member of the U.S. House Committee on Ways and Means, Representative Jodey C. Arrington (R-TX), where she advised on key U.S. tariff measures and energy and agriculture-related trade disputes under the USMCA and conducted legislative and regulatory assessments related to the oil and gas sector, providing strategic guidance on issues impacting production, exports, and U.S. competitiveness in global energy markets.
A native of West Texas, she began her career with U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) and former U.S. Representative K. Michael Conaway (R-TX), then-Chairman of the U.S. House Agriculture Committee. Majeda holds degrees from the University of Texas Permian Basin and received her graduate degree from the Georgetown University McDonough School of Business.
