Risav Ganguly is a Research Analyst at CGCN under its Analytics arm, where he supports the firm’s dedicated research and intelligence unit with data-driven research on energy, industrial investment, trade, and economic policy.
Beyond the firm, Risav is a Research Assistant at the MIT Sloan School of Management, where he builds data infrastructure for the dynamic modelling of cities, which is then further used to study how housing, jobs and populations shift over decades in relation to policies.
He is also an Undergraduate Research Fellow at Howard University’s E2S2 Lab and has previously served as a researcher on Microsoft-funded economic research on the effectiveness of their Airband Broadband infrastructure. Risav regularly publishes in the Hilltop on India-US relations, energy, data centers, and geopolitics.
The American Economic Association named Risav as the winner of its 2025 Andrew Brimmer Undergraduate Essay Prize for his paper on Stratification Economics.
Risav is currently a Sloan Economics Fellow and a James Patterson Scholar pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in Economics at Howard University. Risav is fluent in English, Hindi, and Bengali.
